Title winning Gor Mahia coach who also guided K’Ogalo to their first ever CAF Confederation Cup quarterfinal in 2019 Hasan Oktay has extended his splendid managerial streak to Botswana’s Premier League where his club Township Rollers have won three of their first league matches.
Oktay who joined the ambitious Southern African outfit at the beginning of the 2021/2022 season has infected the team with positivity which reflects in results. His tactics and influence coupled with vast talent at the club has awakened the Botswana Premier League following months of Covid-19 enforced slumber.
Playing his customary direct football, the tactical Englishman has orchestrated three huge wins while keeping two clean sheets in the process.
Township Rollers league opener was against Extension Gunners who went 2-0. Rollers scored their goals in the 22nd and 32nd minute then shut shop, managing to kep the first clean sheet.

Oktay then masterminded a derby win over fierce rivals Jwaneng Galaxy in the second game. After a barren opening hour and the game seemingly headed for a scoreless stalemate, Rollers popped up with a 79th minute goal which proved to be the winner.
Township Rollers’ latest win over BDF X1, a clinical 2-1 victory has Oktay’s side joint top of the standing. This win was particularly generated out of the steely resolve that is synonymous with The Roller’s spirit.
Oktay’s charged went down to a 43rd minute strike but fought their way back in the added minutes of first half to ensure parity at the breather. The equalizing goal came courtesy of new signing Diallo Mohamed from Mali.
Nine minutes to the end of proceedings Rollers forced their way into another victory to maintain a splendid start to the season.
