The Monday match witnessed an outstanding performance by the Kenyan squad, elevating them to the third position in Group F.

Harambee Stars’ captain, Michael Olunga, emerged as a key player, netting two quick-fire goals early in the game and setting the tone for Kenya’s dominance. The first half concluded with Masud Juma finding the net just before halftime, solidifying the lead at 3-0.

The momentum continued after the break, with Rooney Onyango scoring his first goal for the team in the 62nd minute, further extending Harambee Stars’ control over the match. The icing on the cake came in the 73rd minute when Benson Omalla added to the tally, sealing the victory at an impressive 5-0.

The starting XI, led by goalkeeper Patrick Matasi, showcased a well-coordinated effort, with Eric Ouma, Amos Nondi, Johnstone Omurwa, Dennis Ng’ang’a, Anthony Akumu, Richard Odada, Rooney Onyango, Eric Johanna, Masud Juma, and the captain, Michael Olunga, forming a formidable lineup.

The substitutes, including Ian Otieno, Joseph Okoth, Abud Omar, Nabi Kibunguchy, Daniel Sakari, Timothy Noor, Duncan Otieno, Duke Abuya, Ayub Timbe, Kenneth Muguna, Benson Omala, and Alfred Scriven, proved the team’s depth and versatility.
