The Football Kenya Federation has announced the appointment of Mildred Cheche as the new head coach of the Junior Starlets, Kenya’s U17 women’s national team. This strategic move comes ahead of the 2024 FIFA U17 World Cup second-round qualifiers.

Coach Mildred Cheche, who holds a CAF B licence, brings a wealth of experience to her new role. Currently serving as the assistant coach for the senior women’s national team, the Harambee Starlets, and the Rising Starlets, she is poised to lead the Junior Starlets through their upcoming challenges.

Assisting Coach Cheche will be Ann Aluoch, also a CAF B licence holder and the current assistant coach for the U15 women’s national team. Together, they form a dynamic coaching duo ready to guide the Junior Starlets to success.

The newly appointed coaching team is gearing up for the crucial 2024 FIFA U17 World Cup second-round qualifiers. The Junior Starlets are set to face DR Congo, with the first leg scheduled away on February 4th, 2024, and the return leg at home on February 11th, 2024.

Fans and football enthusiasts alike eagerly anticipate the impact of Coach Cheche and Coach Aluoch as they work towards steering the Junior Starlets to triumph in this prestigious tournament. The Football Kenya Federation expresses confidence in their ability to foster growth and development in women’s football at the youth level.

Stay tuned for more updates on Kenya’s U17 women’s national team as they embark on their journey in the 2024 FIFA U17 World Cup qualifiers under the guidance of Coach Mildred Cheche and her dedicated coaching staff.
